Egg PPI Claim - Advice Needed

Hi all
Hoping someone here can give me some advice.
I complained to Egg/Canada Square Operations in March about my PPI charges. The account is no longer active as I closed it, but I opened it in 2001 and had it for around 12 years during which time I was paying PPI almost the whole time.
On 16th March I had a response back which told me that they were "not in a position to properly assess and find provide a final response to [my] complaint because the standards against which your complaint should be assessed are the subject of regulatory review".
It then goes on to talk about the Plevin vs Paragon case and the fact they are waiting for guidance on that.
I responded to them immediately, asking them whether my PPI complaint had been upheld or not, as I understand Plevin v Paragon only relates to commission charges, not actual PPI ones? They replied to me a week later telling me that "though we understand the nature of your complaint, we are required to consider Plevin as your agreement falls within the appropriate date range".
Does anyone know what this means in reality? Is it likely that my PPI complaint has not been upheld? And does anyone know when the FCA are likely to provide final rulings on this?
Thanks in advance

Hi. I was wondering if you had any update on this?
I am in the same situation, made a PPI claim to egg in November and have heard back saying they cant assess my case until the Plevin v paragon case is resolved. Did you get anywhere with yours?0 -

Plevin case means your complaint was rejected but you will get a refund of any commission over 50%. Plevin is resolved but the process is on to sorting out what payments will be made. Dunstonh usually has up to date info so hopefully he'll postSam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Was this on an Egg credit card??
I was sent a letter last week from Barclaycard about the Egg card I previously had for 6years and PPI on the card (???). Barclaycard replaced my Egg card a few years ago so I assume that's why they're dealing with it now. When I contacted them I was told not many of their customers knew they had PPI and they would deal with the claim. As I was self-employed and had a pre-existing medical condition I wouldn't have been eligible anyway.
If it hadn't been for this letter and MSE I wouldn't think of claiming PPI! I used to have several loans and credit cards over the years with PPI so hope to look into these too.0
