You should speak to her manager. And write a formal complaint to them.

Yep, see this thread from this week:

Sounds like you spoke to what they call the 'dedicated parking team' who I suspect ARE just ParkingEye. Try again and this time, the Facilities Manager who I am SURE has cancelled these at South Mimms before.

That poster is now saying more positively after complaining direct to the services and not allowing them to fob him off:

''Yep, tried that route. they have a dedicated parking team - who refuse to talk to me. they wont even provide a telephone number or put their name(s) on emails so I know who to speak with. I called South Mimms direct. Having explained how their parking team treated me with utter contempt, someone there has offered to help by telling ParkingEye to cancel the ticket on the basis the driver is a regular guest of the onsite Hotel, and patron of Welcome Break sites. ''

Have you yet written bad stuff on Facebook, TripAdvisor, Twitter, etc? They hate that.

I have received notification from PE that the charge has now been cancelled. No further explanation was given.

I'd like to say a huge thank you to the members of this forum, and to RedX and Coupon-Mad in particular, for the solid advice that I received... and all for free.

Good luck to all those registered owners out there who are still fighting, or about to start fighting, the corrosive practises of organisations like ParkingEye.

    No, but perhaps I should.

Honestly, the whole experience has been stressful, and the net result is that I no longer visit South Mimms. So, the losers in the end are the retailers who lease their premises from South Mimms.

    Review added to Trip Advisor.

I am not allowed to post a link on this forum, apparently, but if someone with the correct forum permissions wants to post it, I can provide the Trip Advisor link.

I have also sent a copy of the review to South Mimms and added a note explaining that I am going to use social media to let Starbucks and M&S know about it, too.

Kudos to Starbucks UK, whose Faceebook team have responded to say that their customer services team will take the matter up if I email them.

M&S were rather less understanding in their response!

Starbucks at South Mimms have been good and cancelled these before (and it's not their fault, it's WB's contract).

Well, this has taken a turn for the worse...

A family member, the registered keeper of separate vehicle that was used to meet us at South Mimms, also recieved a PCN at the same time as I did.

Because we had identical cases, I told the family member to ignore PE correspondence, and to let me handle their PE correspondence and any subsequent correspondence related to the POPLA appeal. As such, I sent exactly the same letters to PE for both of us.

I never got a response from PE about my request for a POLA appeal. Instead, they just wrote to me to say that the PCN had been dropped. The kicker is that my family member did get further correspondence from PE, but, following my instructions, they ignored it. The response from PE was a POPLA appeal number. I have only just learned of this.

The pressing matter now is this: the deadline for lodging the appeal has now passed, and the family member has been given 14 days to pay, or PE will take to court.

I am going to read the forums to see what advice others have been given if they've missed the POPLA appeal window, but I did want to ask whether anyone knows if PE's inconsistent handling of my case (as registered keeper) and my family member's case (registered keeper) would mean automatic disqualification by the courts?

Thanks for the continued wisdom and advice.
