in Credit cards
Hi everyone I'm new on here so bare with.
I have 4 credits (me and mr) the 4 credit cards come to £12,000 What I want to know is they all have a high APR due to poor credit history. I can afford to pay £800 each month. Do I pay one at £800 until its finished and pay the minimum on the other 3 or do I split the £800 between the 4 of them.
Thanks
Paula

As much as you can on the one with the highest APR, then minimum plus £1 on the others.
The only exception to this would be if one of them was likely to give you a decent BT offer if you cleared it, though I imagine this is unlikely if you have a poor credit history.0 -
Thank you but why pus £10

Your credit files have a flag that shows if you are making minimum payments, which lenders can interpret as a sign of financial stress. Paying just over the minimum can avoid this.0

I had a poor credit history and had cards with Vanquis (39.9% APR) and Aqua (34.9% APR), checked my credit "score" via the online free sources (Clearscore, Noddle etc) and was just about in the Fair category - I know this is pretty much meaningless. I'd always stayed within my limit and 90% of the time paid off the balances in full with Vanquis & Aqua and I took a punt on applying for a Barclaycard (18.9% APR), expecting them to turn me down - they offered me a £3,000 limit and send me 0% Balance Transfer offers every month, could be worth looking at to save yourself some cash0
