Egg card PPI reclaim - success

So recently I contacted Egg about my long-closed account with them, regarding the Card Repayment Protection plan. To be honest it was a bit of a fishing trip as I couldn't recall ANY details of the account, card number or anything, as the account was closed in 2007, paid off nice & cleanly, never any late payments. I've moved house three times since the account was opened, twice since it was closed ... I included previous addresses in the covering letter, naturally.

Moral of the tale: CLAIM CLAIM CLAIM!! It's not hard, & it's up to the financial institution to match you with an account even if you have ZERO account info ... remember to include your previous contact/address information, 'cos that's vital.

Your post has been edited I see at 10:37am. Since "lovinituk" thought your post was SPAM at 10:00am, could it be that he was referring to something you subsequently edited out?

My first comment was before the edited time, so I'm guessing that that's not it.
Though obviously there could have been an edit to remove the spam, then my comment, then a further edit.

If they find something inappropriate, I'm sure they'll suspend my account or outright ban me; all I changed in the original post was the amount I've been offered ... it's MORE than the closing balance of the credit card, I hasten to add.
