Did you original holiday have any other discounts? I ask as if you take advantage of the free dining offer you cannot have any other discounts. I've been researching this for next years holidays.

It is the same room type, I took screenshots of before and after on my ipad as I was worried this was going to happen so have checked and the holiday search is identical in every way.

On the DIBB regulars onsite at WDW are saying the same, and if it's POR or POFQ that was your hotel of choice, this year,s slight increase when free dining had been added isn't a precedent, it happened a few years ago too.

Just spoke to Citizens Advice and they have referred it to Trading Standards as they agree it is misleading.

Why is it misleading? They just changed the price from one day to the next surely.....

BTW - its well known that Disney know the free dining plan sounds brilliant but its not all that as you can see.

(ps you can bet your last dollar that disney have enough legal clout to know what they can and cant do)

It is Disney Holidays UK which sells to UK residents so comes under UK law which trading standards is there to protect.

Our holiday does not include flights. If a UK company offers a holiday at a price at 11:59pm & then at 00:01am starts a promotion claiming in they are giving you free items but also bumps up the price, it is clear the items are not free and the price has been increased to cover the cost of them so therefore it is a misleading sale (this is why it has been raised to Trading Standards).

I wonder if you would say it was still a waste of time if you was charged £250 more then you was expecting to pay.

YES its a con but they can hardly stop Disney putting their prices up when it suits them can they? Id be very surprised if legally they were doing anything wrong. Yes it does look like they are, in effect, not giving anything away for free but surely all they've got to say is on Day 1 they were giving a discount off the full price, but on Day 2 the discount is now free dining.

Bummer of course OP I'm not arguing, but there is no way you can force companies to price things how you want it. They could offer it for £1 one day then next day say its £1000. Its up to them. All you can do is accept the offer or not.

Like I said, can imagine disneys legal team getting a call from trading standards officer from a small town in the uk. Can't imagine they'd be too concerned.
