Good morning everyone, I hope you are all well. I am sat watching the tv where the Queen is about to arrive in Windsor. I also have a birthday in the family as my daughter turns 18 today. She will be out with friends today and we are having a family meal tomorrow. Oh what it is to be 18 💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻
In the meantime I am waiting for the washing machine to finish so I can peg it out on the line. There is something so satisfying about washing blowing on the line. Even if the rest of your life is in chaos, as long as washing is drying, then everything will be ok. :rotfl:
I hope everyone has a good day. Hugs to those needing one.xx“Love yourself first and everything else falls into line. Your really have to love yourself to get anything done in this world.” Lucille Ball.0 -
Good morning all,
Birthday greetings to anyone celebrating.
Hugs to those who need or want one.
Dry but chilly here today, the last few days have been lovely and sunny! I got stuck into the garden and it looks so much better now. Pooch has really enjoyed the longer walks too.
I'm struggling to meal plan for next week as i am determined to totally empty 1 and 1/2 freezers ready for moving house. My DD will be served up some very interesting mealsI have good stocks and I just don't want to be buying too much within the next month. Really need to stick to my list and plan!!
More boxes collected ready for packing later, we are going room by room packing things we definately aren't going to be using for 4 weeks- will make moving day that much easier and I can clean as i go so it won't all be left till the last minute.
Tea tonight is left over chicken stir-fry from last night as it is just me.
Tomorrow it'll be 'freezer surprise' :rotfl:

Hi everyone,
I've been out taking an old gentleman to the day hospice as part of my Good Neighbours role, someone else is picking him up though because I have yoga this afternoon.
I als went to TK Maxx and bought some fridge containers to try to control the fruit and veg in my fridge. I hate it looking so untidy and things get missed because they slip to the back so I'm hoping this will help. I goot some for all the chutneys jams and jellies that all seem to say they need refrigeration these days. I remember my mum keeping things like that in an ordinary cupboard for months. people don't seem to rely on the sugar content keeping things fresh anymore.
So sorry to see that Victoria Wood has died, I liked her sketches but think that her plays were so good.
Have a good day.0 -
Hi all,
Hugs to those that need them xx
SNOOZER - I use a 'lazy Susan' in my fridge for the jams, sauces and chutney,s - much easier to find what we need, just turn it round - Pinterest is full of fab ideas LOL
Cleared out the kitchen today ready to receive the new fridge freezer - it will be so nice to get back to normal
Washing out to dry, really must do some ironing at some point - DS starts his new job this weekend, and has 2 12 hour shifts, I have been given a list of food requirements that suggests he will be eating for most of those 12 hours...... 6 ft 2 and as skinny as a twiglet - eats like a horse - I,m 5'2 and if I'm not careful will be as wide as I am tall - anything just sticks to hips and Tum lol
Enjoy the rest of you day xxNote to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!

The vet was very pleased with Rosie dog, said for her age, nearly 12, she is in excellent health and congratulated me on managing to keep her weight down, she is a chocolate lab and they can get hefty if allowed
she has a bit of arthritis in her hips and elbows but that's to be expected. She is going to send me some anti-inflammatories in case it starts to get worse. For now will just keep giving her the glaucosamine tabs.
His owner always kept him on a strict diet, right up til the nasty Big C got him and he was on palliative care - then it was dietary restrictions off, so that he could get as much enjoyment out of the time he had left as was humanly (caninely?) possible.
Alfie has settled in brilliantly; he's BIG but so very easy to walk - he doesn't pull, and walks nicely to one side of the mobility buggy nearly all the time (just when he spots an interesting sniff, then he'll pop across to the other side, but that's ok).
We have to get up at sparrow-fart for his first walk, (we try to keep to the dogs' famiiar routine always) so we've decided what we'll do is just throw on yesterday's clothes, walk and feed him, and then have our morning bath. Much better than scratting about to get bathed before Alfie's walk.;)If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
First grass cut of the year done! :j It looks so much better and I feel so much better too.0

Hi everyone,
Hope everyone is good and well etc but hugs to those that aren't xx
Quite cold and breezy here today which is a shame because i was hoping to wash the towels and curtains - it shall have to wait for another day.
Been a fairly busy day and my fitbit steps are well up,lol. I plan on having a lazyish afternoon/evening but am hoping to start making a list of what i have in my freezers and cupboards as as i said on another thread i think it will be one of my best ways to shave a bit of extra money off of the budget at the moment.
Hoping to sort out my garden and do a cheap budget makeover of the house as i think it'll help it feel more 'mine' after my husband leaving so will use the money saved off grocery shops and also will use ebay/fb selling page etc to get rid of any clutter and things i don't need or want any more to raise more funds.
Had best move my backside from here now and walk to pick my youngest daughter up from school, bye xx0 -
Afternoon all,
Grandson has just gone for his afternoon sleep so i thought i'd fill you in on the funeral yesterday.
It was very much a 'them and us' situation unfortunately. My children, my husband and two of my childhood friends arrived before anyone else and we sat and waited for the hearse/my brother and other mourners to come. My brother arrived with the girlfriend and his children, the girlfriends' Mother, sister and her hubby. My cousin bought my Auntie and his wife and his brothers wife. All of them congregated away from us not even acknowledging we were there.
The hearse came and my brother stepped forward with his family (and his inlaws) leaving my family to either barge our way in or hold back like one of the public mourners. Out of respect for Mom, i held back. My brothers flowers were put on the coffin for display, mine got shunted round the back with the Grandchildrens flowers, my Aunties flowers and my cousins flowers.
The service was awful. The vicar mentioned my Father and StepFather and went on about how much she loved her family pets. What family pets? We had a dog for all of a month, once it peed on her floor a few times he was given away. My guinea pigs she left the hutch open whilst we were at school and they ran off. Besty the rabbit we had all of a few months before she went awol (dunno what happened to her). We had a budgie and although he lasted his natural life, he was never let out of his cage! So to hear the vicar go on about how much she loved her pets blasted infuriated me.
Then the scripture quoted : 1 Corinthians 13 vs4-8
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails.
Well those words certainly applied to my brother but not to me. She certainly was never patient with me, she certainly wasnt proud of me. Everything i did wrong she reminded me over and over again for years like a stick to beat me with. Where was my protection?
One hymn chosen. I think i was the only one who knew it. My daughter whispered "Mom i dont know it". My Son didnt know it either. Neither did my husband or friends (i asked afterwards) and there was no singing from my brothers side. Honestly i was the only one singing with the organ.
The entrance song on the order of service was played at the end and the song playing as we left was listed as the first song on the order of service.
The vicar invited the family to touch the coffin (he went over to my brothers side.... must of thought i was just a general mourner. My brothers side went over to the coffin, laid their single rose on the coffin and filtered out. The funeral director tried to usher me straight out. "I'm family" i growled at him. "I'm her daughter!". "Oh i do apologise he said and i barged my way over to the coffin with my family". Laid our single red roses and spent a second or two telling her we loved her before leaving....
We were led out to where the flowers were on display. That was the way i knew i'd got what we had paid for.
His family huddled up one corner about 20 foot away. I wanted to shout "do we stink or something?" but of course i didnt.
"Ive got to get out of here" i told my friend. "They need burning in oil" she said. A bit over dramatic but i knew just what she meant.
Later on the anger subsided and i just needed to be held. I still do if i'm honest.
