Balance transfer from someone else's card ?!

Is it possible for my husband to have a credit card in his name with me as an additional card holder and take a balance transfer from a card that was in my name without him having been an additional card holder?

Additional cardholders are neither here nor there.
Most cards will allow BTs between different names, assuming they're not cards from the same stable.0
