Reclaim ppi from Clydesdale loan in 2003 no details to hand.

Evening all . Just after your advice / thoughts.
I had a loan with the Clydesdale bank from 2003/2004 for around £5k that had ppi. Loan paid in full with another loan around 2005 .
Can I still make a ppi claim given the time scale involved and the fact I no longer have any of the details to hand ?
Is it worth just writing a speculative letter to Clydesdale loan products claiming the ppi ?
Any thoughts / advice appreciated.
Many thanks,
Hankins1 (Rob).
