MSE55 code for BBC Store

Options
Watch out using this code.

First of all, it is one use only, on one item only.

I thought you input the code once, and it should apply to multiple items, not so.

Also, paying with PayPal is somewhat perilous. After the first transaction is approved, the next item does not require any authorisation at all. I just clicked on Buy, and it is bought and showing in My Programs already.

You are supposed to be able to cancel and get a refund, but only if you have not downloaded or viewed them in anyway.

The webpage that tells you how to get a refund is here:

https://help.store.bbc.com/s/article/How-do-I-cancel-my-order

The link does not work in Internet Explorer 11, keeps looping, but Microsoft Edge seems to be fine.

I managed to get a refund by using the Live Chat.
Possible ten day delay for refund, though.

If I understand the Live Chat person correctly, the code MSE55 is no longer valid for me, because I used it once and cancelled the purchase.

BBC Store is not the cheapest outlet anyhow. Most of their products can be purchased elsewhere for less money than any discount code.

Care to explain what MSE55 actually pertains to?

As stated on the link above:
The code's only valid on a single purchase of one episode, series or bundle to keep, so if you were planning multiple purchases, use it for the most expensive (where the saving's bigger).

Fine, I missed that bit, but the BBC Store website is tricky as well.
Using Internet Explorer, the refund information page just would not load.

Indeed, you paid to watch the live stream and to do your own timeshifting with a VCR/TIVO.

If you want to watch the programmes that aren't currently on TV, you can buy a DVD, or buy or rent a stream of the programme. You don't get free DVD's with your license fee, nor do you get free streams.
  • The BBC taxes people to watch its service and then charges them again if they failed to record them!
    Scrap the regressive TV Tax!
