  • JoJo : Thanks for the info. I haven't heard of those (or any vegetable semi-permanents for that matter). I'll look into them.
You have a good point about stopping using those that create the reaction. thanks for the timely reminder

I use Directions. Cheapest I find is that good ol' auction site EBay, though that may be the colour I use. Amazon also have them as do beeunique or katesclothing web sites.
Life is like a bath, the longer you are in it the more wrinkly you become.
  • Have you tried henna hair dye by Lush. It covers my grey fine - although I don't have a lot.

If you're having a reaction to any hairdye, you shouldn't use it anymore in case you have a massive allergic reaction next time.

Try a vegetable semi permanent instead like La Riche Directions, Crazy Colour or Stargazer - they have subdued shades as well as bright ones.

ETA: even if this is a spammer trying to get their post count up, the advice still stands for anybody else; if you're having any reaction to a box colour, stop using them before you do yourself an injury.

This times a million! My aunt had a mild allergic reaction to her normal dye. She liked the colour so much she decided she could put up with a bit of itching and redness. The next time she used it her head swelled up and she was rushed to hospital with a severe reaction. The doctors were really exasperated with her when they found out she had ignored the warning signs!
