That sounds great news LG, the refund will be a welcome respite after the Xbox squeeze. I hope the Gnomeboys had a good holiday are they back to school on Monday ?

    Hello everyone.

The refund will be very welcome and will be overpaid / added to pots as I am surviving on the squeezed amount. I'm not entirely enjoying it:o but it is bearable. It's only a few more weeks then I'll have a bit more breathing space.

Posh coffee is a real treat when you rarely buy it. Cheap date me! I make my own drinks in work so rarely buy a coffee out anymore.

The boys both have residential trips coming up the week after next so I think they are quite excited about Monday as the focus next week will be on the trips. It will be the first time Mr Gnome and I have had a few days to ourselves in years. Plenty of time to...

I have decided that if I am watching the pennies this month then its a good time to watch the pounds as well and go on a diet. Sticking to a diet will also keep the frittering spending down. I've decided to go with diet shakes and a small meal for the next few weeks and see how I get on. I was MSE about it as the diet shakes in Superdrug are reduced at the moment so I bought some of those.

    Stick to Diet
    Monday - Done
    Tuesday - Done
    Wednesday - Done
    Thursday - Done
    Friday - Done
    Saturday - Done
    Sunday - Done

    MSE stuff
There was £15 of the half term fund left so that has been split between the 3 pots and the 2 bills shortfalls. I reviewed the smaller of the shortfalls yesterday and it is a bit smaller than I thought (£120 after yesterdays payment) so it won't take long to clear. I suspect the shortfall on the gas and electricity will be rather more but I won't know until we switch providers but I am sure the £3 I've allocated towards it will help :rotfl:

I've checked that we are out of contract on our broadband as I have been waiting for the contract to end to switch. Mr Gnome is under strict instructions to use a cashback site to search for a new one.

I have stayed within my pocket money limit so far this month although I only had 22p left yesterday. Only a bit of spending as I bought some diet shakes and some cakes for the school cake sale. I will need to buy some coffee for work as I make my own drinks but that should be it today.

I had a mystery additional safe custody charge of £12.36 taken from my bank account when they are supposed to be refunding the charges so I will be getting in touch with them today.

    Still plodding on.

LSD yesterday - just £2.10 for coffee for work (it usually lasts about a week)

The first dividend payment has arrived £260, there will be a second smaller one in the next day or so as the shares are held in two different ways. I was debating whether or not to wait for the second payment before OPing but I've decide to OP straight away so I reduce mortgage interest and increase savings interest from today. So £52 to each pot plus £52 to the 2 bill shortfalls. Also I get to OP twice not once:D

It looks like I will get 3 OP's not two so triple the fun. I still haven't had the second tranche of dividends but I did get a £190 refund from the bank today for wrongly charged fees. I've left a bit in my CA to offset the last charge they took and OP or allocated £37 to the mortgage, pots and bills.

I topped up the NWide Reg Saver so the full £500 has gone in this month. The left over amounts are being held in another savings account until 1st July when I can move the next payment.

Not much spending yesterday just some more diet shakes. I'm trying to keep a bit of stock so I have less excuse for falling off the wagon.;)
