charity meter relocation
We're a Charity with a small meeting hall; we're extending to enable wheelchair access to toilets, this involves moving gas meter 3 metres directly up the supply pipe towards the MP main. As we're not domestic, rules say we're commercial. So the cost is nearly £3k.
Frankly it's cheaper to install air source or ground source heat pumps.

Your post suggests that you were you expecting the relocation to be free of charge or that a reduced charge would be made. What allowance did your architect make for the relocation ?
Have you applied for a grant to assist with the costs of the overall project ?
I am a Trustee of a Listed Building - Grade 2* - and we have had several building projects and all come with the full costs and VAT in doing so.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0
