Hi there i'm coming to the end of my 22 yrs and considering joining the MPGS. I will be 39 yrs old when i leave and the benefits of joining are i can keep my married quarter and continue to save until my investments come in when im 45 yrs old.
I'm a Petty Officer in the Navy so does anyone know if i'm able to take my full pension on 22 yrs and work for the MPGS or do i have to have a reduced rate of pension whilst working for them?
Regards

Seems it could be complicated0 -
If your pension is £8000 at 22 years (for example). When you reach 22 years + 1 day, your effectively working for £8000 less.
Choose wisely..... id rather work somewhere else part time, and have Pension topup.0 -
Morning,
At the moment my pension after my 22 years will be £9680 a year so with the prospect of having to move over to a new pension with the MPGS i think that wouldn't be wise.
When you mention a pension top up does that mean working part time to add to it?
