  • I certainly learned store cupboard and 'scrape' cookery as a child JACKIE and learned to apply it as a necessity as a mum with 2 youngsters and a hubby to feed. They both made the connection between what grew in season and what was in the shops all year round but tasteless and expensive very early on in life and never pestered when we were shopping as they knew we had a freezer and store cupboard full of home grown, home made goodies and a garden and allotment with all the fruit and veg we needed to stop us being hungry. They were and are not fussy eaters.
