    While my TSB account is all up and running, my Tesco application (initiated 3 days earlier) has been put on hold because I blacked out the transactions on the VISA statement I used as proof of address!

    After talking with them on the phone (I lightly suggested that my transactions are none of their concern on a proof of address), they simply repeat that they "cannot accept defaced documents".

    I now have to wait for a new freepost envelope so I can send them my council tax bill.

    Word of warning to others, banks are nosy! :D
