The delivery business is very big business at the moment with so many online purchases and tracking technology is often installed on vehicles. This company offers a not so great delivery slot -- between 7.00 a.m. and 6.00 p.m.
If DPD can let narrow their delivery down to a one hour slot, surely the ironically named DX (Delivered Exactly) can do better than this!
Now I have to do this all over again because one item was smashed and another missing.

It's quite simple really, DPD are a much bigger company and are more expensive than a lot of couriers. I don't know of any others that routinely offer a one hour slot without paying a ridiculous amount. DPD are by the best courier company I have ever dealt with and if I have the choice would always opt to pay more to use them over any other.0

DPD have the opportunity to deliver a parcel to a neighboor or leave the parcel in a safe place.
The vast majority of DX parcels can only be delivered to the named recipient without the ability to deliver to a safe place.
The logistics in DX are much more complex than DPD.
No doubt DX will be aiming for timed deliveries as this is the future of online shopping0 -
Why are the logistics more complex? Given that they cannot narrow down their delivery time a bit, I am sure they have more missed calls.Je suis sabot...0

The Passport office, at least in London, is sending the Passports to their owners via DX Delivery.
I am going to call them and see how flexible they are with the delivery but also expecting the worst0 -

DPD can deliver to anyone at the address or a neighboor
DX can only deliver to the name on the parcel and in most instances need to check the I.D of the person they deliver to.
This adds a lot of time to deliveries0 -
DX are also used by some solicitors (I worked for a property auctioneers in New Zealand for a few days, and they sent all the documentation packs by DX).0
