Incorrect default - Npower

Hey, I am wondering if someone will be able to help or know of someone or a solicitor who will be able too.
I did post a while back about Npower incorrectly applying a default to me. They claimed that I was responsible for the electricity whilst living in a flat. However I was already paying this to another company.
Turns out the meter had two MPAN numbers. I've finally got the default removed, but because of this I have had two years of hell. Not been able to get a mortgage or an financial products.
They offer £200 compensation, which I think is disgusting as I must have made over 100 calls to get this sorted and to date they still have no replied to my complaints.
The ombudsman said if I required further compensation I would have to take the legal route. I've received my SAR.
I have put an offer on a house but as I have a 1/4 share of my parent house, I am being stung with the additional stamp duty, this would not have to be paid if I did not have this default?
Would I have a claim to take them through the smalls claims court to try and claim back some compensation would any solicitor deal with this?
Thanks,

Stamp duty on your house is nothing to do with any default.
The stamp duty has to be paid by anyone now buying a property, if they already own or part own another.0 -
Hi Teddysmum, I am aware what stamp duty is, however Npower applied a default on my account and took 2 years to remove even though they knew there was an error (2 MPAN numbers) If I did not have this default I would have brought a house, because of Npower action this will cost me the additional stamp duty so there is a connection.
My main question is - can I get anymore compensation that £200 and does anyone know the best place to start.
Looking through my SAR request I have made over 25 hours of phones calls to this company and was fobbed off everytime.0 -

You will need to show what losses you incurred ?0 -
An aside, but is it not worth disposing of your share of your Mum and Dad's house to avoid the additional stamp duty?
You could sell it back to them - there may be a capital gain, but given that 1/4 of a house is unsaleable, the market value for selling that portion in itself is likely to be small...0 -
Be a hard one to prove that they are connectedDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

You should consult a solicitor on this one. NPower are the UK's worst company and have massive form in this area.
I can't understand why their licence which enables them to report their customers to the CRAs has not been revoked by now.
Oh! Of course! They don't need a licence. Anyone can do it, however incompetent and stupid they might be.0 -
Have you got any letters refusing you a mortgage ?0

Thanks for all your replies, I have not got a letter refusing a mortgage as I checked my credit file before I applied and noticed this incorrect default. The main issue is Npower were dealing with this complaint from January 2013 when I spoken to them the confirm it was in query and they were awaiting for the metering team. Everyone I spoke to assured me that they were dealing with it and it would not effect me in the future. January 2013 they applied a late markers 8 on my account and then removed these end January 2016, as soon as they were removed I found a house and put an offer in 23rd Feb but unfortunitley it not gone through it time so hit with the additional stamp duty and house prices have risen. (I am not want to claiming this back just wanted to put everyone in the picture.)
I'm sure I'll be corrected but surely I can claim something as the information they put on my credit file was in correct and this prevented me getting any form of credit. The £200 compensation does not even cover the 25 hours I spent on the phone talking to these puppets and surely they have broken data protection rule (might not be the right terminology)0
