An update. I ignored the half a dozen debt collector letters and received a letter from Gladstones Solicitors on 3 October dated 27 September titled: Letter Before Claim. I've checked that the PCN number matches the one issued on the original ticket - it does. The letter goes on to say "We now require you to pay the full amount [£150] within 14 days. Alternatively you should provide an acknowledgement of receipt of this letter and a full written response within 14 days. Your response should provide your full account of the circumstance that have led to the charges being imposed and should include confirmation as to who the driver(s) of the vehicle were at the time of each incident and a current address for service for each driver. Unless a satisfactory response is provided, we are instructed to start proceedings against you without any further notice in order to recover the amounts due and costs associated with the recovery of them. The amount that is claimed may therefore increase in terms of cost and any interest that is recoverable." My principles tell me to continue to fight this. I am relying on poor signage as my defence, but am concerned that this by itself isn't strong enough? If I do fight it, is my next step to respond to Gladstones telling them this is my intention but without going into the detail they're asking for? Thank you in advance for your help everyone.0

others will be along to add to this
the amount they are asking will be in excess of court rules and if you lost would be lower than they are asking for now
someone will show a link to the correct procedure to appeal
my 2 thoughts are , gladstones will say they want to do it on paper , NO WAY! you want it in YOUR local court ,
PS this is the sort of shambolic attempts gladstones do

Thanks Papa Golf. Looking through my paperwork I don't seem to have received a Notice to Keeper - how can I find out if one was issued?
I'll respond to the Gladstones letter today requesting information in order that they comply with pre action protocols and when the court papers come through ask for it to be heard at my local court rather than on paper.
Does that sound like the right immediate course of action?
Thank you again for your advice and patience. I am a sole parent, working full time and so time and energy are both in short supply!0 -
You won't have received a NTK because you threw that away by accident with a hasty appeal, so they didn't have to bother with statutory paperwork after that:I appealed, before I visited this site, and committed the error of identifying myself as the driver.I'll respond to the Gladstones letter today requesting information in order that they comply with pre action protocols and when the court papers come through ask for it to be heard at my local court rather than on paper.

Try not to worry too much because Gladstones appear to be pretty easy to beat in court, with some knowledge of their tactics and a decent defence. You have read ahead and are already aware and expecting to be told how lovely it would be for the case to be heard 'on the papers'! So you are better prepared and have put more energy into this than many who come running back thinking their next letter is unique each time!My principles tell me to continue to fight this. Oh, and do not reply to any private message from a poster with less than 1000 posts to their name here. We deal with these issues openly on the forum and any pm could be from anyone at all (even the parking firm) and any private message about this is not recommended to be replied to/read.PRIVATE 'PCN'? Thanks Coupon-Mad; and I can only acknowledge the claim once/if I receive official court papers is that right?
Thank you also for the vote of confidence and for the offer of continued assistance in building a robust defence. I will have a better night's sleep than the last few!0 -

I can honestly tell you that I have not seen a Gladstones case defence we've assisted with that has lost. A couple of UKPC ones were lost (and more were won - so newbies with a UKPC claim, all is not lost!) but that was a different solicitor anyway. I really can't recall a single Gladstones one even continuing to court yet, where the poster has been helped on here. Some were certainly dropped once a good (non-template) bespoke forum defence arrived.

Claim Form was received with Issue Date of 14 Oct - I've acknowledged service online today.
I'll start researching my defence - I'd be grateful for any advice or offers to read through a draft.
I've never done this before and I'm anxious about not having enough time to prepare a good case - I work full time and am a sole parent to two children; I'm not the most confident of people and would usually avoid conflict and confrontation at all costs - I certainly don't need more stress in my life, but I feel so aggrieved by the actions of this company. I am so grateful for the regular posters on this forum who support people/strangers make a stand.0
