USA Visa

Planning on visiting NY, USA next year.

One person that is coming with us has a previous conviction from 3+ years ago. They will need to apply for a visa, just wondering if anyone knows roughly how far in advance a visa should be applied for.

And when you apply how long does one last? Do you have to specify the travel dates on it?

Thanks!

Depending on what the conviction was, they MAY need a visa. (example, one simple DUI doesn't need declaring).

Depending on what the conviction was, and whether they need a visa, 3 years MAY be to soon to get a waiver.

It it needs a waiver that can take months, so the sooner they apply the better.

1 trip, 1 year, 10 years, depends how it goes.

The "normal" B-2s are 10 years, but they are now extremely difficult to get for normal travelers.
