    • Marketing
    • Completing Surveys
    • Mystery Shopping

Filling Envelopes always looks iffy to me.
Completing Surveys and Mystery Shopping jobs are available without paying a fee.

The site is newish, Registered on: 09-Dec-2015.

same owner has ukassignments*co*uk with the same layout/content.
    http://www.scamadviser.com/check-website/ukassignments.co.uk
lists reviews saying site does not pay out.

Their contact tel number is the same as ctlclaims and Uk Co Buyers Ltd (among others), so looks like a call handling center ??

Any job where you have to pay an upfront fee before you get any work should automatically be avoided.

Yep - their business model relies on you paying them.
  • paidpeople.co.uk / ukassignments.co.uk is definitely a scam!

All you get for your registration fee is a list of well-known freelancing websites which you are told to register for. There are no jobs or assignments listed on their website.

All the addresses they use on the website and for their domain name registrations are just correspondence addresses. The phone number is just a recorded message. I did call back the number which they used to contact me to take the card payment but it's obviously just a phone answering service. When I asked the agent for a name of a manager or director she said there was a "no names policy"!! The domain names are registered to one Anthony Young.

I feel very foolish for paying the £39.95 fee. My email requests for a refund have received no response.

I will be reporting the websites to Action Fraud. I will also report them to Google because I found the website via an advert on Google - surely Google shouldn't be carrying ads for fraudsters!! I will also try my bank and trading standards to see if they can help to get my money back and close down these fraudsters.

    WARNING - AVOID THIS SCAM!!!

This should be bold in huge letters at the top of the forum.

    Paidpeople? More like peoplepaid!
  • Did you get your money back, registered with them today - what a fool!

I was keen to get to work and was told there were assignments waiting for me that would cover my registration costs, logged in and quickly realised all wasn't as it was portrayed to me!

Remembered them saying that had to send a letter for a refund, it is written and ready to pop in the post now, thinking I will send it recorded delivery - any other tips greatly received?

    Thank you in advance!:o
  • I would suggest you contact your card issuer and initiate a charge back.

This is clearly a scam. Contact Trading Standards.
  • On the case straight away, my card issuer said they will help me resolve this and advised me what I need to do, so hoping it will get sorted!:T
  • Good to hear, Shelley. Best of luck.
  • I tried phoning for a refund, then tried emailing all to no avail. I visited their 'office' on Wednesday only to find it clearly not in use. The information board suggested the office was let to a company called '1st Secretarial'. The post under the door was not for 'Paid People', 'UK Assignments' or '1st Secretarial' and looking inside the letterbox I could only see a table and chairs piled up as if the room was not in use.

I am trying to find the building manager to see if there is any connection.
