A reasonable thought.I dont think people here are being judgmental or bullying,to be honest when you said at the beginning of your thread you were refused HB as you had deprived yourself of assets I assumed it was around 3 or 4 thousand you meant
We don't know that's the case though. It's entirely possible that there was no expectation of claiming anything.but to have received £100,000 and have it all gone...was surely foolish to have spent it all knowing you would end up seeking more benefits again?
Maybe they both worked at the time and didn't think benefits would be an issue.
Maybe the OP worked full time but has since reduced hours to care for her husband.
Part of the issue with deprivation is was it done with the sole or main purpose of getting benefits that would otherwise not be due.
Shelter won't want to "waste time" if they think it a lost cause. Maybe they have a case?I think you or shelter will have a major job convincing housing benefits you are entitled to help again and at the very least they will be asking for receipts for the big spends.......0 -

Are you saying that you got £100K (inheritance/equity from sale of a house?) and some if it was considered deprivation of capital or are you saying your got X and £100k of it was considered DoC? Because I can't see how paying rent would be considered as such, unless it was rental of a house in Spain, and same for business, unless it was expenses for travelling to Spain to attempt to open a cafe.
Are you looking for a FT job?0
