    So they've got the gearbox out, and can see the clutch is worn thin and the DMF knackered. At this mileage, that can only be incompetence and abuse.

    Saying that you've not noticed anything wrong in the previous 2,000 miles and five months doesn't help your case for it being a pre-existing fault, however.

    To be honest, it's going to be as cheap to get them to put it back together now as to get it shipped somewhere else in bits. Probably cheaper, because you can guarantee something would go missing or get damaged in the transfer, and both garages would blame the other, leaving you the bill.

    We do not know how you drive so cannot say whether you caused it or not.

    I helped someone get a garage to change the clutch on a car they bought and sometime later i saw how she drove OH MY.. 6000rpm reversing off the driveway mmmmmm i love the smell of burning clutch material in the morning..

    The clutch went again within 6 otr8000 miles and they called me, i said not a chance. They wont replace it now.

    She got a free clutch out of them already no way i was going to tell them they need to fit another after seeing how she drove.
