Indigo penalty notice by post on rail car park

Hi guys

I parked a few times in the Brighton station car park without paying the parking fees and i got through the post 3 penalty notices by post asking me to pay £60 fine which goes up to £100 within 28 days.

I am pretty confused about whether Indigo is a legitimate company which can hold you to these fines and make you pay in court or is it someone i should be ignoring?

Any advice would me much appreciated

Thank you

    firstly, they are not fines

now as for these notices , are they penalty charge notices like you say or are they actuall parking charge notices (that is 3 different types of notice, but the first on (fine) does not exist

railways tend to be covered using bylaws, so these are a pcn but either say PENALTY or PARKING

if its PARKING, then read and follow the NEWBIES sticky thread near the top of this forum, using thhe BPA information and template

no admissions as to who was driving, appeal as keeper only to postal notices only

and yes INDIGO can send out these invoices and they can also try a court claim too

Why on earth are you parking without paying the tariff? Brighton is my neck of the woods but why would you do this?

Having said that, this is a private firm and you need to appeal each one as registered keeper as per the NEWBIES FAQs thread that you appear not to have noticed/read yet. Top of the forum(ish).

Here is a railway station POPLA appeal recently which included relevant points for second stage:

    Don't tell us you've paid.

The NEWBIES thread tells you what to submit for first appeal stage, and exactly when.
