Digforvictory- vicks is worth a try I like that idea.
I'm also very for anything holistic, so will put those suggestions forward.
I love how this has descended into a 'whats the best thing to vomit' conversation :rotfl::rotfl: Have to add Weetabix, chips and rice to that list (from my own experiences, but not baby related) and as for noodles  and as for noodles
Your comments have all been so helpful and I've linked DD to this site so she can read them. Xx
She ended up back in hospital again yesterday as she was even vomiting the anti-sickness tablets back up  and was sick 18 times in 5 hours!!
Once things go through a drip she picks up a lot- shame i can't keep her permanently hooked up!!
She's stressed about work and, like other posters, it doesn't look like she'll be going back in the near future. That then adds money worries to the whole thing.

The Professor who I saw at the hospital said many MANY babies are aborted because their poor mums just can't cope with the sickness, and im ashmaed to say it crossed my mind. It's incredible that a growing baby can still manage to get nutrients from its mother when there seems to be zero going into her body but they do...the baby will rarely suffer but the mother will. I had ketones +++ in my urine, and have vivid memories of lying on the germ ridden toilet floor in the hospital just wishing I would die. i didn't believe my heart could carry on beating when I was so weak and felt so wretched, and felt sure my little inhabitant would suffer. Not only because of how I felt physically but how I felt mentally. I really couldn't have carried on much longer, "I can't do this," was all I would think all day every day.
My heart really does go out to your daughter, it's a horrendous condition - definitely ask about the steroids, I went to a HG clinic and it was full of women all on Prednisolone with big bumps, there is help and hope xx Proud Mummy to Ruby Proud Mummy to Ruby

Oh god, she said the exact same thing yesterday about abortion- and i read that 1000 babies each year are aborted for this reason. You shouldn't feel ashamed at all.dinky_dragon wrote: »The Professor who I saw at the hospital said many MANY babies are aborted because their poor mums just can't cope with the sickness, and im ashmaed to say it crossed my mind. She's also had ketones and low blood pressure.
She's so weak and can barely make it from room to room.

It's terrible, when you see those two pink lines on the pregnancy test you have such hopes of "blooming" and getting a little bump, and then BAM, you're knocked off your feet. It's especially hard as it hits so early on, before you can really FEEL that you're pregnant - no bump, no kicks, you look the same as you always did, just with 24/7 nausea and sickness. And another 34/35 weeks of (you think) feeling as bad as you do vomiting into a bucket at 4am just feels absolutely impossible.
Im sure there is a lot of research into the condition, but it seems a lot of women are still suffering without any real help. Proud Mummy to Ruby Proud Mummy to Ruby

I was told that too. Something to do with all the extra female hormones, apparently.
When I was in hospital there were 3 of us in with HG.
The other two already knew they were having girls, I didn't know at the time but also had a girl (8lb 11oz).

My daughter had a boy first.. but her HG was less severe with him. It is more common to have girlies though.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0

My first pregnancy (horrendous HG) girl, I have also been told you're more likely to be carrying a girl if your sickness is especially bad. I am having a boy this time, and don't know how bad I would have got as I managed to get in with my wonder drugs before it really kicked off Proud Mummy to Ruby Proud Mummy to Ruby
