Burnt Kitchen Worktop

Hi all

I've made an error an burnt the kitchen worktop :( its bubbled up about 9cm circular area. There's also a slight brown area of burning. No tears or holes. Its a laminate covered woodchip, bluey/grey mottled colour. Just wondered if this is a fixable problem or if its going to need a new worktop. And how much would the fix replacement cost?

Its not letting me upload pictures of it unfortunately!

TIA

There are companies around that work wonders with damage such as yours , like : http://www.plastic-surgeon.co.uk/ . I've used these a couple of times in the past and you really would struggle to ever spot the repair.
Whether or not repair is more economical than replacement I don't know, vaguely I would expect cost of a good repair to be anywhere from £100-300 ( without seeing any pics ) ; again without seeing photos, replacement could be as little as £30 if DIY or £150-200 hiring someone, but joints and cut outs will all add to cost if replacing.

I believe you can email photos of the damage over, to repairers such as the ones I've linked to and they'll provide you with an estimate, I'd start there.

I've sent those people an email. How long from getting in touch can they get out and do the fixing? Thanks for the info.

You could try routing out a section of worktop and insetting tiles as a feature

I've had them out next day before but another had to wait a week or so. It's worth checking out and getting estimates off a few others, google "worktop repair" generally brings up a few different nationwide companies, there may also be a local company.
