Halifax Valuation - No Valuation Figure

Recently was approved for a mortgage with the Halifax and proceeded to the valuation stage. The house is on a private lane in the countryside in northern ireland.

Offer was accepted for 25k below market value and absolutly no work needs done to the property.

However the Halifax valuation guys - Colleys i believe they are called, refused to put a market value on it citing - the property is not acceptable to the lender due to its location causing saleability issues

all this despite another guy bidding against me in my persuit of the purchase???!!!!

makes absoloutely no sense so are these guys just trying to take my money i paid for a valuation or do they not understand the irish property market?

You need to find out what aspect of the property makes it unacceptable to Halifax.

You might find other lenders who will find it acceptable.

Although, if you do proceed, bear in mind that when you eventually sell - your prospective buyers may have similar problems getting a mortgage.
