Cant record onto DVD

Hey all,

I have loads of films on my hard drive but am wanting to free up space so want to put them onto the blank DVD's. No problem i thought, i have NERO, i have blank DVD's, wait a minute i cant, there is no option on NERO for me.

How come when you have the most up to date NERO it doesnt have the option to put films onto DVD's?

Does anyone know of any free softwear to put AVI files onto a blank DVD?

Are these DVDs you want to be able to play in a DVD player, or do you just want to burn the .avi files as data on to the DVD so it is only viewable on a computer? Nero should allow you to burn as data fairly easily..just go into Nero express and click 'burn data DVD' and select your avi files.

I want to be able to play them on a DVD player as i know that i can do a data CD. Dont have the option on Nero to put them onto a DVD like that.

Any ideas?

You seem to have only an OEM version of Nero 7. The full version contains Nerovision Express 4, the program that you are missing.

Yes just checked u can download Nero7 Ultr Edition Enhanced 7.10.1

Start Nero up and go to the copy DVD, then when it asks for a DVD put your original (one you want copying) in, it should then read the data on this, eject it and ask you for a blank DVD.

agree with donnie above - in nero 7 i use nero vision to convert avi files to dvd and burn them onto dvd to play in standard player - nero vision walks you through the relevant steps
