help needed

my mother received a letter a few weeks ago from barclays stating that the account she currently has is closing,it is a packaged account currently costing her around 6-7 pounds a month [ she is 73 years old and is slowly going deaf blind ,cannot remember, ect ] but she is still my mother & we love her so she gave me the letter to read, the upshot of reading the letter & contacting the bank is my mam has been paying for an account she cannot remember signing for,she did however get a loan from barclays to pay off a old debt but that was 15-20 years ago,so i contacted the bank again to complain & ask if anything can be done & to ask when this account was opened, now the 1st time i asked the guy said around august 1995,.but when i called the 2nd time the claims officer, handler, manager.said he did not think the account had been around for that long anyway they said they would contact me & send e mails ect to my house,as mam is getting worse with her sight hearing ect, then last week my mother gets a complaints form questionnaire asking things like do you remember when you opened the account ,why did you open the account ect.
last friday another questionnaire arrived a duplicate of the 1st one,now im asking for all your help as we have never had to do this before, what should we do ,or what would you do if you were in our shoes ??? .

The account open date and the account conversion date would be two different things.
now im asking for all your help as we have never had to do this before, what should we do ,or what would you do if you were in our shoes ??? .

As you are wanting to make a complaint, then completion of the complaint form will be required or you will have to write out the complaint long hand. You could phone but they wont speak to you over the phone without your mum's permission. Plus, you wont be able to answer most of the questions without her being asked. So, it would be a difficult phone call.

So, filling in the form for you seems to be the best option. If she cant remember then state that on the form. Do not guess or lie.
