Thanks for getting back to me again. Already did that! We got 4 quotes and yep, BG were the most expensive, though not by that much as we managed to catch their half-price boiler offer in its last few days. They quoted £2,300 but I had a very nice chat with one of their sales team, queried a few extra items they had quoted for and managed to get £300 knocked off the price. This is just under an hour of chatting on the phone. Best hourly rate I have ever earned by miles, Npower included.
Many plumbers will tell you that they are much better than combi ones and that if it was up to them, they would never remove them until they pack up for good. MIL has had hers for over 25 years and never has any problem. We've had a new combi put in 5 years ago and we have problems with it all the time. We told her not to even think of replacing hers unless it's given its last breath! Her place is always nice and warm.
