    It's all very simple actually.
All payments you make get allocated to the unpaid statement in the first place, then to cash advances balance, then to purchases balance.
I think this covers all possible scenarios.
In fact the interest is pretty small and, IMHO, using Clarity for cash withdrawals only and instantly paying them off is taking a p1ss.

Arrived back today from a lovely break in Spain. First time users of the Halifax credit card, mainly purchases, hire car, eating out etc.

But we did also withdraw 150 Euros via an ATM.

I was going to log in to Halifax and simply pay the whole balance off to minimize interest. But unfortunately it is my partners card and it looks like the online banking activation code did not arrive.

First statement date was 05 July, nil value.

Just wanted to check if we leave it for the direct debit to settle the 08 August statement in full is it just going to be a couple of pounds interest?

    Thanks

Depending on your interest rate, I seem to remember it's about 6p per day per £100.

So what does that work out at?

You don't need to have Halifax online banking set up.
Just use these details to make a payment:
    Bank Sort Code 77-29-00
    Bank Account no. 00000000
Your payment reference is your 16 digit card number.
