PIP form just over a year and have to apply again

Options
My daughter got high rate mobility and low rate care DLA up to Jan last year. She has to reapply for PIP end of 2014 so had her interview in Jan 2015. She got pip standard mobility and were told by interviewer to appeal with a wink as she said they needed more evidence.

We got a letter from her doctor and in March she got enhanced rate of mobility and standard rate daily living which I think was fair.

She has now got to reapply again having only had pip for 14 months. Is this normal. Her condition will never improve the doctors can't do anything so she doesn't go and see them now. All she can do is excercise in her bedroom as per pyscho advice.

She has a hereditary condition so her muscles are slowly wasting away due to CMT.

I think its unfair for her to go all through this gain she was deeply upset that she had a lesser award first time around, its deeply intimidating experience for her to go and see them even when I was with her, I cant even speak up for her when she forgets little things that are important.

She does work but uses some of this money for taxi to work and back she cant use public transport as they drive off before she sits down and often there are no seats and some people wont give up there seats

I really feel for her as I have just had a horrendous ESA assessment and have a PIP one in 2wks time, if I have to go through this yearly, I will not cope feel on the edge as it is. I have 2 lifelong illnesses so surely money could be saved by not putting us through such frequent assessments.

PIP can be assessed or re-assessed at any point during the claim if the DWP make a conscious choice to reassess - however silly and pointless this is - there's little that can be done about it.. The end date on the award letter really means very little.

Cheers I just didn't think it would be so soon another pip reassement especially as not everyone is still on pip yet.

It such an ordeal for her the person who saw her to be fair was nice and did delibtraely give me the impression she should appeal.

I have various medical problems and was on an indefinite lifetime award of dla for middle rate care and high rate mobility.

When I was asked to switch over to pip, I filled in the form and gave medical evidence.

I went to the assessment, the assessor seemed a nice lady, and said "its my job to help you get the benefit your entitled to", but when I got the report it was full of lies, and I was horrified.

I only got 3 points for daily care, and yet I got 14 points for mobility.

I am having to do a mandatory reckon, some of the things that was said on the report were not relayed on the correct descriptors, and she failed to tick the correct box.

My mum did a letter of complaint that the assessor was not reporting things correctly.

Is your daughter aware of Access to Work OP? They may cover the cost of taxis (in excess of what she would pay for public transport).

Yes, my friend who is disabled gets her taxi fares to and from work paid by Access to Work.
