Appeal against the CTO?
There's also a difference between going AWOL without telling anyone and a planned break away.
Could you look at a short break to start with and discuss the feasibility with your care team? Careful preparation is more likely to get you a yes than just legging it.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

I thought PasturesNew gave a valid explanation.
It does rather give the impression that only ths country is "civilised";)
In any country someone acting outside the letter of the law will ( quite rightfully) be detained.0 -

I'd assumed (possibly wrongly) that the OP was talking about travel within Europe or, at least the West. I never dreamed that someone with those sort of health problems might be thinking of going to anywhere more exotic and "uncivilised"!0 -
I have a work colleague who considers Greece uncivilised and refuses to go there because loo roll can't be flushed. It's all down to perception. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -

Especially when the OPs perception was that Buddha was telling him to go on a spiritual retreat.
He's not been on for a few days, hopefully he's getting the right help from his medical team.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0
