It will be just me and occasionally girlfriend using internet. I will use it to surf net and download films off piratebay occasionally. Is this the best package-

The £30 50mb unlimited package with no phone?

In the future I might want to get the phone if I start my own business, can you add that on later? Same for TV stuff?

Much better to get 50mb Bob and phone with line rental saver. It's about the same price. And if you are thinking of wanting a phone anyway......

    Check out deals on uswitch.com

    What's a 50mb bob?

Is the Virgin deal for £30 internet only or £22 plus phone (only for 12 months) the best deals? Which of two should I go for?

Also, if I just get internet now cant I easily upgrade to get a phone in the future?

    I searched and found this-

Sorry bob should read bb as in broadband

You can add things later but
    1. You rarely get a good price deal.
    2. You locked in at that price for another 12 months.

So if you think you want a phone, best get one now.

    £30 is normally bb only.

I think you should go for the uswitch deal. £22.99/month for 12 months.

Yes, after 12 months it goes up to £36, but you can change contracts or cancel so it probably is the best deal, isn't it?

You have to pay £17 for phone installation initially, but I guess it's worth it and I guess you can cancel phone after 12 months and go just on internet, couldn't you?

Yes you can cancel it after 12 months.
  • And once the Virgin phone line is installed, then even if you cancel it you'll be able to reactivate it later without needing another installation job.

From a credit worthiness point-of-view I think it's still seen as beneficial to have a landline phone number... or is that a bit out of date now, what with so many people not using their landline even if they have one.
