House sale

Hi

I sold my house 6 months ago and purchased a new one. In December Zoopla was showing my new property as a recent sale and correctly displayed the purchase price as you would expect.

The property I sold however is still showing as the last sale being 10 years ago when I purchased it.

Any ideas as to why the sale doesn't seem to have been registered with Land Registry?

The buyers solicitors were beyond hopeless so it wouldn't surprise me if they had forgotten to reregister ownership and that legally I still own the house!!

Purchase a copy of the title from the land registry. If your name is on it then there may have been a problem with the transfer. Take it up with the solicitor if so.

Just searched on land reg- is it the title register I need to buy? The house is a leasehold if that makes any difference so I assume I was right to click on the leasehold bit rather than the freehold?

    Thanks!

So I downloaded the title and thankfully (I am well shot of that house!) it has been registered to the new owner albeit the registration date being 6 days after completion. Mind is now at rest about still owning it but still left wondering why Zoopla etc aren't showing the sale........
  • Sometimes a sale just never shows up on the free sites. The price I paid for my current house doesn't show up and I've been here for four years (completely normal purchase, with a mortgage). My last-but-two purchase never showed up either.
