Avoid Hammonds Furniture! Overpriced and useless customer service

For anyone thinking of using Hammonds Furniture... don't!

You think you are paying a premium for better quality and superior custome service. Whereas in reality their quality is poor and their standard only as good their outsourced contractors.

But it's when problems arise you realise when a bunch of fob offs they really are! Their 10 year guarantee is worthless as they will use every excuse in the book to get out of repairing their faulty mechanism and honouring their obligations.

I've had a Hammonds kitchen for the last 5 or so years. I've no complaints.

Have some Hammonds bedroom furniture and the quality is very good.

Care to explain what actually happened?

Firstly the fitting was to substandard quality:

Scratches along aluminium frame
Doors would close with gap in the middle
Side panel would be riddled with bullet holes
Laminate edge would peel away
Joins wouldn't butt together and there would be gaps
Drawers would be uneven

Then the soft fit mechanism failed and the door would keep banging shut. But they are reluctant to fix it and would rather fob you off despite the 10 year guarantee.

I've no doubt some people will be happy with their furniture but like I said it isn't until you have problems that you start to see what the customer service is really like.
