Mopping up the mess - my final debt free journey!

Hi CMD,
Sounds like you do have a sound plan- inthe past I have always been unrealistic about real expenses and agressively gone after reducing debt, and then it's failed as something's cropped up. Patience is a huge lesson out all of this for me - I need to seriously learn to have some as this going to take years to sort - probably as many years as it took to build up!
I'd like to say I think the DMP is going fine but we are at the really early stages. We've gone self managed so instead of someone else doing it for us, we're doing it all ourselves. In some respects this seems great as we have more control - on the downside I'm not 100% sure of what we are doing...and I'm struggling getting my head around not paying my creditors and damaging my credit rating, when I've always paid in the past....we'll get there.
We've been able to get rid of our 2 smaller CC's this week so now we just have the 3 on the DMP to contend with.
Here's hoping there's a few quiet and calm weeks to come!
Great news that you've managed to get rid of the smaller CC's. Always a great financial boost!Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Just plodding along here until payday which is 13 days time. August will have more expenses - in terms of summer camps, school books and school shoes. Then September is really expensive as myself and OH are going away for our 10 year anniversary, DD is 5 and I am going away the end of Sept to celebrate a 40th party. There is always something.
October and November look to be quieter months so am hoping we will be pay off stuff more aggressively than we have been doing.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Had a lovely weekend. We were at a birthday party on the beach yesterday and then had my 2 nieces over for a sleepover last night.
Managed to really cut back on the spending the last couple of weeks so have been able to order DS and DD's school books. Didn't think I'd be able to afford the books before payday so am delighted with myself. I also resisted the Next sale yesterday which is a big thing for me
One week to payday. Can't wait to get under 19K. It seems to have taken ages.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

This weather is so so nice! Hope it lasts for a while, could get used to it
Plod plod plod til payday. Chomping at the bit to get under 19k. It will kick start my motivation again I think. I will have some money left over from this month to go towards my overdraft. I'm trying not to overspend on stupid things as this is the time of the month I can self-sabotage. I did buy 2 summer duvets in Lidl today for our room and DS (DD has one) as the duvets we have are too hot. That's an investment though, as we'll get years out of them! Hope everyone is good

I self sabotage towards the end of the month too - what's that all about?
I think I rebel a bit when things go really tight and just say stuff it!
Lets hope the sunshine is here for a while longer....hopefully for the next 10 days at least - got a few days camping planned in Dorset!
Well done on resisting Next and buying the books!

Not sure what the self sabotage is about. Tried my best to avoid it at the end of the month and ended the month with a small amount of money left in the account so that's good!

Phew - made it to payday with some money left over. Not much but that doesn't matter. I can't do my money juggle until I get paid on Thursday but will definitely be coming in under 19K, which should hopefully motivate me for the month of August.

Yay, am under 19k. Can't wait to get under 18k, hope it won't be as long. So sick of being in debt. We should have a generous disposable income and instead it all goes on servicing debtTotal (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947
