Virgin Mobile £5 / Month offer - Don't Use

My teenage daughters contract has 1gb of data. It's with Vodafone. For the first 3 months she had the Data Test Drive which gives unlimited data. In the first 2 weeks she used 14gb
My paranoia set in the day the Data Test Drive ended as i pay the bill. She got sick to death of
my chant "Check your data" every day. She soon learned to manage this herself and has so far (12 months later) never gone over the 1gb limit. She uses WiFi wherever she can and checks on the Vodafone app when she thinks she's used more than normal.
It's up to the person using the phone to do this, the OP's post is a bit silly really. When i last checked Virgin didn't provide Nannies.0 -
I had the Virgin £10 monthly package but always seemed to get a bill for a few pence over. Phoned them to query, they refunded all the extra (added up to a few £'s) and suggested the £8 package. Since having it all texts/calls have been well under my allowance so am looking at the £5 one. I've been with them for several years and never had anything but good service from them.
Put simply, if you don't want big bills don't go over the allowance.0 -
Gotta say the £5 pay monthly SIM has been a godsend for us. We needed a temporary SIM for a few months. So got a £5 from virgin, the person using it is VERY aware of the low data allowances, and although he does usually use more is being extra careful. The phone is currently used mainly to keep him in contact with everyone until we can resolve his normal phone/SIM issue.
When that's resolved we'll so my cancel the £5 sim. Until then he is either using WiFi or being selective about what he views on data.
All our phones are on various virgin pay monthly deals.0 -
So because you can't keep tabs on your own data use (after picking a contract with a small data allowance when you obviously need a larger data allowance), you think NOBODY should take this offer ??

We got one as we have their cheapest media package with only free phone calls to landlines on Saturday/Sunday. We use the mobile for all other outgoing calls all week (we use the landline for incoming ones).. Saved us from surprises when we get the media bill.
Can also take it on holiday around the UK or use as a spare if our mobiles have run out of battery. We don't use it for internet. It's been very good value for us.There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -
