Furniture/floor protective sheet's

Got to do alot of painting etc in the coming months around the house. In the past have bought cheap covers, but found paint did go through them. They were thrown away.
So looking for good quality replacement's one's. What's best to go for reusable or disposable one's. They would be used for covering furniture & wooden floors.Cheers for any replies:beer:

I use old curtains, like you I found paint tends to go through cheap bought ones. If Mrs Le_Kirk isn't looking I use new curtains and just put them back up when I've finished.

Disposable for covering furniture, pvc backed for flooring.

Take a look here: (examples - available in various sizes to suit your needs...)

I use the poly backed ones for painting, plastering, plumbing etc as they are effectively waterproof :)

I use dust sheets on a roll for covering large furniture. Cheap, cheerful and covers large areas, sofas etc

When rolling the walls i usually use an old bed sheet along the skirting edge/portion of the floor, its long enough to do large sections of the walls at a time and simply pull along as you go

If your making so much mess that your worried about paint going through sheets your either being careless or overloading/using the wrong type of brush/roller

Ask on freecycle or similar for underlay. Not the solid green sheet type, but one that you can roll up. We kept ours and have put them down in each room as we decorate it. Works for us. We have also used old curtains too and old throws are brilliant at chucking over furniture to protect from dust.

I use a combination of things.
I use old towels to get right up to the edge of the skirting board as it 'grips' better to carpets and doesn't move and then leave a gap. I then use old bedding (good job my dear old grandma had lots) and finally put a plastic type sheet on top of that.
sounds a lot but it works. It means any spills don't go through onto your carpet.
