Hello - I am with EDF and was worried that I am paying over the odds for my gas & electric (duel fuel), now I am not in any way, shape or form technical minded that is why I have electric keys and gas card(not in debt at all with either of them), I just shove the amount on and away we go, so if this seems a silly question to you that is why.....
For electric in June 06 : £45 - June 07: £70
July 06 : £65 - July 07: £90
August 06 : £65 - August 07 : £70
Does this seem right as we are a family of 5 in a normal house although my cooker is electric and we have a tumble dryer, should we change? or are the amounts "normal"??
Thanks

Well electric is very high - much higher than average.
You can get much cheaper gas and electricity tariffs if you have credit meters and pay by Direct debit - especially with on line tariffs. By having key meters you are restricted to higher tariffs.
That said even with a credit meter your bills will be high unless you can cut down the amount of electricity you use.
If you can't get, or don't want, a credit meter, you should look at Ebico as they charge the same for pre-payment meters as 'normal' tarifs.
However your Number 1 aim should be to reduce consumption and tumble dryers are one of the biggest culprits.0 -
