Mortgage Preparation & Credit Cards

I am trying to prepare myself for switching mortgage, current deal runs out end of November. Between my husband and I we have about 6 credit cards, all have quite high credit limits and all but one are zero balance, we have about 1K on that card which is interest free. I have been reading and re-reading and just getting more confused about whether to reduce the limits or cancel them, we have had them all for a number of years and tend to use them for big purchases to then balance transfer to another to take advantage of interest free. We have one for overseas spending. Whilst we clearly don't need them all It seems to suggest cancelling old cards can have a detrimental effect.
I would be very grateful for any advice received as I don't want to make a silly mistake.
Many thanks

The impact of your available limits upon your ability to remortgage will be negligible.
Having balances on them would have a significant impact upon this.
You are worrying unnesecarily. If by some slim chance it was an issue for a particular lender there are tons that it wont be and i suspect that the lender would tell you and ask you to close/reduce.
Honestly, if theres nothing dodgy on your credit history and passing the affordability test is no problem stop worryibg and relax.£1000 Emergency fund No90 £1000/1000

Thanks for for the reply, credit history is good, affordability OK but could be border line for some companies which is why I don't want the cards to affect it.0
