    Morning everyone,

Wet and cold here, set to stay that way all day.

Lie-in this morning, didn't sleep very well at all so lovely OH got up for the girls and took them out. We had Venison meatballs last night which were delicious but I did a little brown rice with it which seemed to really bloat my tummy up, suspect that contributed to the sleepless hours.
The weather was foul yesterday so didn't go far for the shopping, popped into W@trose and managed to pick up a nice piece of YS gammon for the freezer.

Just need to do a few jobs this morning then will drive over and pick up Mum, her best friend has been moved to the local hospital so we can pop in and see her, poor lady has struggled for years and I suspect she won't go back to her own home again :(

My DSS's have the last football fixture of the season which they have to win so OH will go and watch them, it might be postponed though as we have had so much rain the last couple of days.

Tru your idea for the old wood burner sounds lovely
Jackie the cottage sounds fab, hope you have a good day and enjoy time with your friend
Candlelight and Hillstep sending hugs, hope you are doing ok

Have a good day everyone, take care folks x

    Morning all,

Drizzling here so washing will have to go in TD got a few loads to do today, just dropped DD at work and am having my toast and waiting for OH to come back from the boot sale, then we will have a good clean through and take the bear for a long walk.

The man came to cut the hedges and did the front one and the side of the back one but could not do the top as it was too thick and needs a chainsaw, we will wait now till the birds have finished nesting and get someone in, he is coming to mow the lawns on Monday, with us both working full time its a struggle to get them done so would rather pay someone, he is a retired chap who does a lot of gardens down the road and it gives him a bit of money too.

Not sure whats for dinner tonight will go and have a look after this, it will be something easy though.

Lamewolf thanks for the healing for Evie, if you could keep it going for a while, she is nearly there but every little helps !

Islandmaid I cant believe its been three months already ! I bet you cant wait to have her home xx

Jackie O have a great time xx

    Have good days all xx

Morning all, I got bored trying to sleep so got up at 4 and it has snowed quite a lot though not stuck. OH has gone to the supermarket and I've got stuck on the Times crossword. That's about it really, not an exciting time and I am glad of it.
I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back

Back from travels with Mum - though perhaps 'travails' is a better word. Blow me - she looked at every single item on every single shelf in W*se. Eventually I found a wee spot in the small cafe at the back of the store and sat there with a paper. She toddled around, picking things up, examine them putting them down again and moving onto the next item. :rotfl:

The rest of the day was similar - go to a shop and look at everything. Lunch our wasn't much better, we ate some really bland food in an hotel in Drymen. Happily, the sun shine all day so it was good to be outside. On the way back to her house we had to call in at T*sco and L*dl - not sure why as I didn't go in to ether. At least the day made her happy.

It's tea and feet up now.

Good to hear that JackieO is enjoying her holiday cottage.

Elona - I was thinking about you and your painting spree, hope the bloke came on time.

Of course I will; I can't hear of a furbaby not well, and not try to help. x

Ollie's gone home; I printed off a few extra photos (each dog gets an official photo with the host, but sometimes I do a few "holiday snaps" to go with it) - in one of them, he's lying with me on the sofa with his legs sticking up in the air! :rotfl:

Next guest arrives on Wednesday evening - a ridgeback/collie cross named Alfie. So I have a couple of days to get the bungalow back to being shipshape, do a wax bath for my poor feet, and deal with the silver badger-stripe in my hair.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
  • Bless you GERS, what a lovely patient daughter you are. Your dear mum is a lucky lady.

We have had a glorious day here and the rain forecast for lunchtime never arrived! Chilly out of the sun though! I made my promised trip into town, getting all on my little list, and was soon back home again. For lunch I had the remaining half avocado (first half used at breakfast) and did the tuna, avocado and spring onion mix from the BS recipe book. It was lovely in lettuce cups, accompanied by salad stuff. Mr TA having bbq ribs for tea so I think I will have fish, courgetti and yet more salad!

Have a nice evening folks xx

    Good afternoon everyone,

    Hugs to everyone.

I drove home from Somerset yesterday in torrential rain, but made it back safely. I was very sad to leave Mum though. On one day I went on a coach trip with her and her WI group and thoroughly enjoyed it, so I'm looking forward to when I retire:rotfl:

Nice to be back though there were lots of people in the house while I was away, so I cleared up the kitchen yesterday. Today we woke up and the boiler has stopped working again, so the landlord came round and looked at it and has said he is going to get a new one fitted hopefully at the beginning of the week. I hope so as its got a lot colder today, plus its horrible us all having to boil water to have a wash, I really miss the shower.:(

DS is at work and staying at GFs tonight as they are working again tomorrow, DH is at work but hopefully will not be too late back, and I'm just about to take DD to work for the evening.

Had a busy day at home I've washing drying outside I hope! Been to Ald* to do the shopping and have cleaned downstairs including steam cleaning the kitchen tops and floor. I still need to do the bathrooms but not sure I might leave them until tomorrow.

Anyway hugs to everyone and thinking of those who are having difficult times. Have a good evening everyone.

DGD's went home, hubby's gone out, so what do I do? Put my feet up? Have a nana nap?
Nope, I recovered my dining chairs, as you do.
They have gone from a very grubby pink and cream floral stripe to a navy blue.
I'm very pleased with them, I'm just wondering how long it will take hubby to notice.
DSIL also dropped a couple of bin bags of dirty washing over as DD is drowning, I'm working my way through those too.
    Chin up, Titus out.

Jackie O glad you arrived safe, even if it's still trying to snow.
Hard up Hester please take care of yourself , who else will pick up the pieces if you are ill.
Not much done here today as teens still recovering from flu / colds/ sore throats. Hubby put himself to bed just so...
Lunch was homemade carrot and cumin soup. Hunters chicken and chips for tea. Caravan shelf now mended.Lovely friend just text as has some clothes for my daughter . Keep warm everyone.
  • Evening all

I'm lucky to have a stunning view of the union canal and the fields beyond I wish I had gone for a walk now instead of a Bath as its a glorious night.

JackieO hope you enjoyed your day and the weather behaved for you.
Hester you've giving me an idea for my chairs now. My cat has the faux leather all scratched, thought I'd have to get new ones but now I'll recover in fabric.
