The long-term future of Manchester Building Society has been thrown into doubt after it reported a loss for 2015 and warned of “material uncertainty”.

My first reaction was to wonder whether the govt will twist Nationwide's arm to ride to the rescue. Or maybe it's the Coventry's turn. In their shoes I might reply "You own RBS; tell it to do the rescue!"Free the dunston one next time too.0
