    If the surrounding ground is damp then it is far more likely that you'll get rising and/or penetrating damp. The external walls (and floors) may have been effectively 'tanked' to prevent damp penetration, but if this internal wall has not that may be the source.

    You really need a specialist to take a look.

    be careful if you are offocially raising a dispute against FH. you will have to declare it if you sell the property. unless you plan to keep the property for a long long time then i wouldnt raise disputes, just ask them nicely. unfortunately the way the system is setup you have little power. next time buy share of freehold if you buy a flat.

    you could enfranshise or do a right to buy but would need cooperation from other leaseholders and is not easy and long process. you could appoint another manageing agent yourself but would need to go tribunal and you will need a strong case with evidence and even then it may not happen.
