Claiming refund from credit card

in Credit cards
I paid for flights with a debit card.
I paid for hotel with credit card
Flights got cancelled due to Italian airport strikes flights were refunded.
Can I claim for the cost of my hotel from credit card as although they weren't at fault and willing for us to go we could not get there we were unable to use the services?
Cost of Hotel £550 is non refundable
thanks for any advice

not from the credit card as the accommodation was still made available to you. Have you tried your travel insurance?0

I have sent things off for travel insurance I was just wondering as a back up plan as some people have said additional expenses such as hotels may not be covered under cancellations0

You have no refund rights even if you did pay on a credit card as the hotel has not breached the contract in any way.
But as you paid for the hotel on the debit card as a separate transaction, why would the CC pay anyway even if you had a valid claim.0 -
I didn't I paid the hotel with credit card I was just wondering because I'd heard about section 75 and wondered just in case the travel insurance wouldn't pay up if I possibly had a back up plan it was just a query.0
