SKY TV Price Rise AGAIN!

I bet you use your 70% no claims discount on your insurance each year (which is no different to a loyalty!
A no claims discount isn't a loyalty bonus for staying with a particular insurer though. You can change your insurers and you still have 'x' years of no claims to carry over with a different company. My current no claims is built up over 4 different insurers, as I move as soon as my current insurers no longer offer the best deal. And as you have said I can haggle on or leave but that is only at an individual level and not for the masses.
It can be for the masses. Everybody has the ability to haggle. A lot of people on this site do as well.
Maybe if more people did, then you may get your desired blanket price cuts as so much of their employees working time would be spent (wasted) negotiating with customers. But as long as consumers continue to not be bothered, businesses will try and make what money they can. They are businesses not charities.
I think maybe your efforts and frustration should be aimed towards the apathetic people who are blindly happy to keep paying these prices. I was one of these in the past until I worked out just how much money I could save in my life with minimal effort.
I get that some people are 'scared' to try and haggle, but you don't even need to talk to anyone anymore. It can all be done online so really is easy.0 -
Same as OP and with the latest price rise i am binning SKY as i cannot justify paying upwards of £100 P/M for the phone/internet/tv.Hi there! We’ve had to remove your signature. It was so good we removed it because we cannot think of one so good as you had and need to protect others from seeing such a great signature.0

As above, your comparison is absurd. A discount on your car insurance is given because for each year without a claim you are perceived to be a lower risk-what has that got to do with loyalty? Many people cut retention deals with Sky of up to 50%, but if you can't be bothered to negotiate a deal each year at the end of your minimum term then you can expect to go on paying the rack rate.
There is no such thing as a loyalty bonus and Sky have never offered such a discount, which would be commercially ridiculous. You don't discount to customers who have no intention of leaving. No free lunch, and no free laptop

Sky and Virgin TV is a complete waste of money.0

My Sky contract is just up for renewal - I think I'm going to leave this year.
Mind you, I said that last year but they did me a deal; however, they did put the price up mid-contract, so it wasn't quite as great.0 -
In your opinion.A_Flock_Of_Sheep wrote: »Sky and Virgin TV is a complete waste of money.
