Topcashback Claim

Hi,
Has anyone had issues with claiming cash back when using Topcashback?
Around a month ago II was to open an account make a large purchase with Very and had previously been advised Topcashback by a family member. On signing up and looking at the website, I realised as a new customer I could earn 7.35% on doing this through Topcashback, which I did, spending quite a large amount and according to their website was to expect £68.28 cash back. However a few weeks later I saw this had been declined and therefore opened a case with them. On April 11th I received an email to advise that apparently Topcashback had not been the 'last referral' and therefore I was not eligible for the cash back.
Yesterday I received an email I had received cash back for a purchase with Very for a small purchase I had made on 12th April. However due to the cash back being declined previously, I did not use Topcashback (On Topcashback you can see when you last 'clicked' on a retailer and I had not done so since my initial purchase and had logged out of my account after my last use). This mean that my purchase with Very should not have been logged in their system.
I emailed them and was given an excuse of something to do with cookies and clearing my cache before logging in to Topcashback however this does not give me an explanation as to how a claim can be declined when using the website correctly but a transaction I did not make through their website could in fact be authorised. They did however have the cheek to say they are now to remove the cash back I had earned when not using their website.
I would not usually concern myself with an issue such as this but not only am I to lose a large amount of cash back but as they can track a small transaction without me even using their website but decline one when I had processed it correctly calls into question the validity of them declining my initial transaction. Also as someone who is relatively 'tech savvy' and security concious online, it concerns me that Topcashback can track my transactions when not even being logged into or using their website.
Any assistance or advice that could be given regarding this matter would be gratefully received.

Did you use any other codes on the first order, either a discount or refer a friend?
Are you a true first time customer?0 -
Very quite often do 20-30% off first orders. Did you use that?0

Yes I am a first time customer and yes I did you a Very discount code (which I understand means that there is a possibility I may not get the cash back through Topcashback if using a code or voucher not posted or approved by them) however the reason given by Topcashback for not giving me the cash back is that I had not processed the final transaction through them (which I 100% did).
I guess my grievance is that if they can track a transaction which I did not even use their website to process, how come they can't track the one in which they claim I did not use their website as last referral. It seems a little suspect that they are willing to pay the cash back that I did not use the website for which was less than a pound in cash back but won't pay one that is almost £70.0 -
You used a code that counteracted it. Very probably are not happy to give you a 30% discount and the additional cashback. The code may act as some sort of referral code and the referral was Very.
The second order counted as you did not use a first time customer code.0 -
Ok, I understand that but what I don't is how Topcashback are tracking transactions that I did not use their website for. It is somewhat concerning...0

When you made the purchase ,you would have gone via the Topcashback site, but probably they wouldn't know that your total cost included a Very discount and using this discount would have been your first action.
I bought a laptop, via TCB, a few years ago and had the cash back refused by the company (I suspect because the item was reduced on the website). However,TCB intervened and got me the payout.
In this case there was no 'other offer' as the reduced price was the only one available, but at the moment ,they are offering a fixed sum off any laptop, so I would not expect to be able to use this offer and TCB.0
