Elephant were cheapest for me on a ZR (22yo)

Make sure you put your mom or dad on as a named driver as will bring the premium down.

Yeah is my first insurance on my own and brought premium down by £200 just for having my mom on. Worked the same if just had dad on.

This way you can build up your own no claims.

Frizzell are pretty competitive for young drivers.

Also check Endsleigh but they're not usually that great.

My younger daughter got her first car recently and Tesco turned out to be the cheapest for her.

Norwich Union are usually pretty good too.

Tesco were cheapest for me when I was your age.

Also, as mentioned before add any other older members of your household onto the insurance and it will reduce premiums.
If you add both your Mum & Dad on as named drivers it can reduce your premium significantly. It doesn't really matter if they're not actually going to drive the car.

    Elephant are absolutely awesome!!

I tried about 15 companies and cheapest insurance was £850 for me, tried elephant - £400!! What a bargain!!!

If you read the reviews on ciao they are excellent if you have any problems/accidents too!

Definitely worth a close look! I also did the trick of adding a 2nd driver!
