Withdrawing positive balance in Cash (AMEX CASHBACK)

Hi all.
I am going to be receiving around £300 paid into my American Express Platinum card this month as cashback for the previous year's spending.
The card currently has a zero balance and so the card will have a positive balance once the cashback is paid.
Does anyone know if I will be charged for cashwithdrawing the £300 and if so what would the charges be? I assume, but am not sure, that they would charge the cash withdrawl fee but not charge any interest as it is a positive balance.
Is there any other way of getting the money out of the account short of spending on the card / withdrawing cash?
I can spend on the card to use up the money if needs be, but I'd much rather the cash.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Whilst my posts do not constitute financial advice, I am always, without fail, 100% right!

Mr M.
You may well get charged a withdrawl fee (depending on the card) but you should not pay interest if your account is in credit.
Other ways of getting it out would be to call them up and ask for a cheque or bank transfer (it is your money after all) or to spend £300 on it.
R.Smile, it makes people wonder what you have been up to.

You can request a cheque as already mentioned, the only other way to get money off a American Express card is to open a American Express Travellers cheque card and transfer the money on to it and then take the TCC to a ATM and withdrawal the cash. You have to state which currency you want the TCC in ie.Sterling.
By the time you have done all that you could have recieved the cheque or just run up a £300 bill on your excisting card.Previously known as Bokken, registered at MSE in Nov 04,computer glich deleted my access but it is fun building up my stars from scratch,again.:D0 -

re. the above. I have an Amex Platinum Cashback with zero balance - I'm overseas for a bit. However, I'm about to get £200 refunded on it.
Is it a simple matter of requesting a cheque from Amex?0
