Stuck in a chain

FWIW we bought in September 2012, when new build completion wasn't expected till November. We had moved into a rental and ended up with rent and mortgage to pay due to it.

The estate agents told us there wasnt a chain at first we got our offer accepted the house before she had found anywhere herself. The estate agents only told us about the chain after our solicitors and the vendor had informed us. The people at the end are adamant they will rent or move in with family so their house sale doesnt fall through. But theyve known they are getting a new build for at least a month and only started the mortgage process last week which makes me worry that they are trying to stall. But the lady buying off of them is pregnant so were hoping she pushes for the sale to go through before the baby arrives0

OK as FTBs it's time for a quick patronising lesson:
Estate Agents lie. They are so adept at it that they themselves believe what they are saying, so it's always plausible to you.
House Builders. That rep in the sales office? He lies. Bare faced, look-you-in-the-eye untruths.
You love this house and won't be pulling out - well you will be waiting until August or later then. What you can do is request that the other end of the chain pay your rent to make up the shortfall.
You can also keep looking - you found this house and loved it, and you will find another one you may love even more, in an even better location.0 -
We have learnt all of this ha! We arent going to change our minds about the house for what we can afford and location etc this house is a bargain. We were just hoping to get this done quicker. If we cant looks like august!0
