Hiya..... this is from a not too technical person so..... be gentle:o
We have a relatively new (less than 1 year) Sony Bravia android tv. (Model KD 49X8305C)
Today a message appeared on it saying an update was available, so we started the update which it was claimed would take about 30 mins.
The tv is connected to the web by ether net cable. All other Internet kit works fine so no problem with Internet connection.
The tv is now in a loop -
black screen 》swirling coloured dots which seem to stop prematurely with some as a blur 》 white "SONY" name in middle of screen 》 black screen 》repeat as before 》repeat as before.
Anyone else had this and/or know what to do? Obvious step is to contact shop tomorrow but maybe there's a quick fix someone knows about?
Any help would be much appreciated - and yes! We HAVE tried the statutory "switch if off at the wall"!

as above factory reset
FACTORY RESET
please follow this guide to perform a factory reset to your Television.
Turn on the TV.
Wait approximately 40 seconds for the TV to completely start up.
On the TV remote control, press and hold the UP ARROW button. top of joystick 12 o'clock
While holding the UP ARROW button, with your other hand reach around the side of the TV and press and release the POWER button on the TV set.( not the power button on the remote) it should be the top button along the side panel.0 -
Thanks for that, but that's what is so worrying - even the factory reset won't work......:(
